PROMO
i don’t get a lot of requests for promotions, but i do get a few. so here’s how i like to handle shout-outs:
1. submissions are the best. send me anything sexy, that fits in with the rest of the stuff on these pages, and i’ll put it up. it’ll link back to you, and i’m happy to do it.
2. i do give shout-outs on occasion, where i’ll purposefully reblog somebody whose tumblr i’m enjoying, and tell everybody to do the same. this only happens when i want to do it. not when people ask me to.
3. follow-back. i do try to look at any new followers i get, and check out their tumblrs. i don’t always, but pretty often. and i add you if i like what i see. as a rule, i don’t follow anybody who’s only got a page or two of posts. i like to follow blogs that have been going for a while, because that way i have a better feel for what kind of stuff is likely going to be on them in the future. requesting a follow-back is no guarantee, although it’ll insure i give you a quick look.
basically, i follow hundreds of amazing blogs, any of which i’d happily promote. i love having followers, but i think that trying to get followers for the sake of having a bigger number next to you on your dash is silly. what’s fun is having followers who message you back, who interact with your blog, and getting to interact with theirs.
